Obituary Dorcia Burks Emberton, 93, of Tompkinsville, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville.She was born May 22, 1921 in Monroe County, KY to the late Earlie Burks and Lillie Turner Burks. She was a retired certified medical assistant and a member of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church. She was united in marriage on November 7, 1942 to William Lawrence Emberton who preceded her in death on October 15, 1999.She is survived by two sons: Gary Emberton and wife Connie, Mike Emberton and wife Kathy all of Tompkinsville, one daughter: Sharon Eakle and husband Lewis of Gamaliel, six grandchildren: Dr. Kimberly Eakle Hume, Melisa Cook, Kirk Eakle, Tracy Joinville, Amanda Isenberg, Tylor Giorgio and six great grandchildren: William Joinville, Trey & Trevor Isenberg, Kinsey, Cameron & Chlo`e Cook.In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son: Sheldon Emberton, four brothers: Ernest, Herbert, Delbert and Dewayne Burks.Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 12 at 2:00 PM at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Monroe County with burial to follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery.Visitation will be after 5:00 PM on Monday and after 7:30 AM on Tuesday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.Memorials are suggested to the Turner Cemetery To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Dorcia Burks Emberton please visit our Sympathy Store.
