Obituary Paul D. Birge, 84, of Tompkinsville, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015 at Monroe Health & Rehab in Tompkinsville.He was born July 18, 1931 in Barren County, KY to the late Elzie Birge and Laura Ellen Thomas Birge Bartley. He was a retired factory worker and farmer, a member of Philippi Church of Christ and a US Army Korean Veteran. He was united in marriage on December 5, 1953 to Anna Joyce Vinson Birge who preceded him in death on May 23, 2009.He is survived by one son: Roger Birge and wife Jo Ann, one daughter: Connie Birge, one brother Billy Birge, one grandson Matthew Birge and wife Lindsay and one great grandson: Levi Paul Birge all of Tompkinsville.In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one brother: Cecil Birge and one sister: Hazel Birge.Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 17 at 1:00 PM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Military rites will be performed at graveside by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow.Visitation will be after 11:00 AM on Wednesday and after 7:30 AM on Thursday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.Memorials are suggested to the White Cemetery.
