Winson B Blankenship

Obituary Winson Blankenship, 78, of Gamaliel, passed away Wednesday, October 5 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.He was born March 31, 1938 in Monroe County, KY to the late Alvis Blankenship and Dona Poland Blankenship. He was a retired factory worker, a member of Gamaliel Baptist Church, a Army Veteran and a Kentucky Colonel. He was united in marriage on December 21, 1990 to the former Margaret Lane.He is survived by his wife: Margaret Trivett Blankenship of Gamaliel, two sons: Shawn Trivett and wife Robin of Tompkinsville, Scotty Trivett of Gamaliel, two daughters: Teresa Davis and husband Ricky, Stacy Murphy and husband Barry all of Tompkinsville, 11grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild due in March.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons: Mark and Ricky Blankenship.Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 8 at 1:00 PM at Strode's Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel with burial to follow in the Neal Cemetery at Flippin.Military rites will be performed at graveside by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow.Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday and after 7:30 AM on Saturday at Strode's Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel.Memorials are suggested to the Gamaliel Baptist Church or the Neal Cemetery.
